An egyptian man moves to London to seek his fortune, leaving his family, his life, everything he knows behind. He spends 1 month a year back in Cairo, which he estimates to be 1 year every 12, or 4 years for a lifetime. Then his brother mentions that old friends having been reporting they've seen him back in Cairo, in cafes and bookstores. This of course is impossible. But it insinuates into his imagination and ultimately splits him - a successful businessman who lives in London and a fictional man living in his mind who never left Cairo.
